Live text broadcast

Kairat is out of the UEFA Europa League as defeated by Maccabi in the second leg.

For Kairat, the game against Maccabi was one of the most important this season. A lot more games to come in the Premier League and national Cup, but nothing can be compared in terms of environment to the UEFA Europa League games.

The game against Maccabi had some serious goals and challenges for Kairat. First of all, Kairat had to win the game to qualify to the next round. Then we have underestimated factors like humidity. This problem is not new for the team, but the solution is yet to be found. And of course we have to remember about fans, such passionate support like we had in Kazakhstan will unlikely to happen.

Players were well aware about all difficulties that they will have to face, but arriving in Israel with only one thought - to get to the next round. The game started not so well for Kairat. Maccabi went forward from the first whistle and Kairat defence had some tough times. The pressure built by the hosts was rewarded on the 5th minute, Ben Haim carried the ball on the left win and hit it well – 0:1.

After the fast goal Kairat players got more active and started playing their own football. They have put more pressure on the home side, created more attacks and were shooting from long range. Arshavin striked a long range shot twice, and although Maccabi goalkeeper did not seem confident, he managed to get the danger away from his goal.

There were few more good shots, but Kairat struggled for goals in the first half. The second half started with a substitute for Almaty club. Kuat went on for Acevedo. Maccabi was more relaxed which benefited Kairat. On 47th minute a free-kick was awarded for Kairat, but the guests failed to convert it. Their goal they have scored later from another free-kick.

In the middle of the second half Isael found Gohou in the box with a good cross and Gerrard made the score equal – 1:1. Such result forced the home side to go forward, Kairat played defensively, but was still creating their attempts.

At the end, Maccabi had more quality in the final third and less quanitity. A team from Israel had more shots on target and one of them ended in the back of the net. Alberman, the team captain, put himself on the scoresheet – 1:2.

Kairat spent last minutes attacking, trying to equal the score, which would have been enough to qualify, but did not find any luck. Kakhaber Tskhadadze's team lost in Netania and is out of the UEFA Europa League.
