Kairat has lost to Astana in Kazakh Cup final - 0:1.

For the first time in many years Kazakh Cup final was decided to be held in Almaty. But November in the southern capital this year has been very cold.

Kairat: Stas Pokatilov, Islambek Kuat, Cesar Arzo, Zarko Markovic, Gafurzhan Suyumbaev, Mikhail Bakaev, Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Andrey Arshavin, Bauyrzhan Islamkhan, Isael Barbosa, Gerrard Gohou.

It was snowing heavily a night before the game. The pitch on the stadium was ready for any weather conditions as it was protected by a special cover. However, several hours to the game it had to be removed and very soon the pitch was covered in snow.

Kairat, who are used to play on the ideal surface of Almaty Central Stadium, lost its competitive advantage. Astana started the game lively and was able to hit the bar few minutes into the match. Kairat adapted to the unusual conditions and took control of the possession, but technically gifted and creative Kairat wingers struggled in such conditions.

Arshavin and Gohou both had several attempts on goal in the first half. Arzo had his chance from the corner. The closest Kairat was towards the end of the first half, but the shot was blocked by the defender.

Beginning of the second half was again under Astana control. Junior Kabananga scored after an assist from Roger Canas – 0:1.

Straight after conceded goal Kairat became more active. Supporters did not allow hosts to stop, were always pushing them to go forward. Gerrard Gohou was in the opposition's box few times, but could not balance himself.

20 minutes to the end of the game Despotovic was one-on-one against Pokatilov, but his shot went wide.

Towards the end of the game Kairat was constantly attacking, but the finishing was poor. Shots were taken by almost every player from the team. Few minutes to the final whistle Kairat was in the opposition's box, but no one could finish those endless attacks.

Kairat lost in the Kazakh Cup final and missed on the chance to keep the Kazakh Cup at the Kairat base forever.
